Berkley Vanish Transition is a fluorocarbon-based fishing line designed to be almost invisible to fish. A second-generation offering from Berkley in the Vanish line, Transition takes the features of Vanish one step further by offering a line that changes color when wet and is clear and invisible to fish. Above water, the line has a color that can be easily detected by fishermen who need to sight their lines.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Berkley Vanish Transition filler spools
Step 1
Choose Berkley Vanish Transition line in the pound test you will need based on the species of fish you will be trying to catch. Vanish Transition line is available in 4- to 50-pound test, making it suitable for a wide range of both fresh and saltwater game fish. Consider 4-pound test, for example, when fishing for wary mountain trout and 10-pound test or heavier for bass.
Step 2
Choose Berkley Vanish Transition in crimson red for times when you want the line to be less visible and blend in with your surroundings. Crimson red Transition appears red above the surface of the water and can help in sighting the line yet still provide some degree of stealth, since the red will blend in with the background.
Step 3
Select a bulk spool of Vanish Transition in gold for the times when you need to quickly sight the line or when fishing in cloudy or overcast conditions. The gold color may be more easily located by some anglers, especially in low-light conditions. The gold color may also stand out more readily against dark-colored foliage in the background.
Step 4
Consider the convenience and price per foot when comparing Berkley Transition bulk filler spools. For example, compare the price per foot of line between a bulk filler spool of 2,000 yards and a smaller filler spool of only 250 yards. Typically, you will not only save money but also time with a bulk spool, especially when spooling several reels at once.
