Instructions For the Northcrest 2-room Cabin Tent Setup

NorthCrest two-room cabin tents are large, dome-cabin, hybrid-style shelters. Traditional cabin tents use a canvas shell and heavy aluminum poles to create a large interior. The NorthCrest uses a nylon exterior with collapsible poles to create a large interior space. The tents are manufactured overseas and sold through large retail stores like Walmart and Target. The two-room tents have standing room and are divided for privacy. Each room can comfortably sleep three people, and the tent comes with built-in storage pockets for toiletries and small items. The tent is not constructed for heavy use, but it is waterproof and suits the needs of casual campers.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step 1
Locate a flat area for the tent. Remove rocks, sticks and obtruding objects from the tent site. Remove the tent from the storage bag and separate the fly, body, stakes and poles.
Step 2
Place the main body of the tent on the tent site. Spread the body out to the full size and hammer stakes into all four corners. Pull each corner tight before staking to create a flat floor area.
Step 3
Locate the two long poles and assemble by snapping the connected pieces into place. Slide each of the poles through the long diagonal sleeves. The poles will cross at the peak of the tent. Place the end of each pole in the corresponding grommets. This will bend the main poles and erect the tent.
Step 4
Locate the two poles that are longer than the remaining poles. Connecting the poles by snapping each of the connected pieces together. Slide the poles through the side sleeves. Place the end of each pole in the corresponding grommet to erect the remainder of the tent.
Step 5
Locate the small door and window poles. Each pole will fit in the sleeve located in the door or window cover. Place the poles in the sleeves to create the peaked door and window areas.
Step 6
Align the zippered partition connection and zip the width of the tent to separate the two rooms. Clip the storage pockets to the tent wall in each room.

Tips & Warnings

The tent can be erected by a single person but two people can do the job much easier. Also purchase extra stakes in case one breaks when hammered.

Do not attempt to set up the tent in fast winds. The wind will make it difficult to control material and you may lose pieces. Also consider setting a tarp beneath the tent to protect the floor from rips and water.
