Green lights attract fish. They get the attention of smaller fish, which in turn get the attention of the larger ones. Building a green fishing light doesn't have to be a complicated process. Your goal is to get a waterproof light down in the water. A few simple supplies will get you glowing in no time.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Green-colored plastic drink bottle
  • Small rocks
  • Glow sticks
  • Fishing line
  • Unused fishing rod with reel
Step 1
Add small rock to the bottom of the bottle. This will weigh down the bottle down so it will sink. Add as much as you can, but make sure to leave room for the light.
Step 2
Snap glow sticks and drop them in the bottle. Fit as many as you can into the top half of the bottle so the light will be strong.
Step 3
Put the cap back on the bottle.
Step 4
Tie the fishing line from the rod and reel to the top of the bottle, just below the cap. Cast out the light and put the rod in a holder so you don't have to hold on to it.
