Fifth-wheel trailers are pretty stable vehicles. They do not require much by way of hitching procedures and can tow a motorcycle easily. If you are not familiar with a fifth-wheel trailer, it's a vehicle with less truck bed space than a typical trailer. If you don't want to ship a motorcycle to a vacation destination, you can tow it using just a hitch, which will allow you to tow up to 15,000 lbs. of weight.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step 1
Take a preliminary measurement. Measure the distance between the 5-wheel trailer and the trailer that will carry the motorcycle. You will use this information in just a moment.
Step 2
Link the two vehicles for towing with a hitch. Once the hitch is in place, adjust the tension on the spring bars so the trailer sits at the same attitude as the 5-wheel trailer.
Step 3
Adjust the hitch ball height. Raise or lower the hitch ball height as necessary to level the 5-wheel trailer.

Tips & Warnings

You can also use a motorcycle tow bar, which is a transporting device that connects to the front wheel of the motorcycle and carries the vehicle with the front reel off the ground and the back wheel in motion. Attach the tow bar to the fifth wheel trailer's hitch receiver.
