How to Build Mountain Bike Halogen Lights

How to Build Mountain Bike Halogen Lights
Mountain biking is an exciting sport that sometimes demands you be out in adverse conditions. It may be dark, foggy, or rainy outside and you will need a light so you can see, and be seen. If you do not want to pay a lot for a high-tech light system for your bike, a halogen flashlight is an easy alternative and can be mounted in just a few minutes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Halogen light Shelving brackets
  • Halogen light
  • Shelving brackets
Step 1
Lean your bike against the wall and lay the halogen flashlight against the side of your stem. Position the light pointed forward and butted up against the bottom of your handlebar, assuring you can direct the light beam to the front of your wheel.
Step 2
Connect two of the shelving brackets together to form a "C" and then wrap it around your handlebar. Use the provided sheet metal bolts to clamp the jaws of the "C" together around your handlebars and flashlight handle. This will hold the light in place firmly.
Step 3
Turn the flashlight on and adjust the beam width by turning the adjustment knob on the front of the light until you find the desired beam.
