How To Search For Hotels

How To Search For Hotels
Hotels can be hard to find during an outdoor excursion, especially in a smaller town or sparsely population region. Types of hotels available in popular recreational regions range from small motels to larger resorts. Although finding a hotel is easy when you are in a particular town, searching for one remotely requires extra tools such as a hotel database or city website. With a few minutes of time and a destination city in mind, you can find hotels easily and quickly using online search tools.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step 1
Pick your hotel location. You will need a city, state and check-in dates before you look for a hotel, so refer to a map or activity location as well as a calendar in advanced to your search.
Step 2
Select a travel site, such as Orbitz or Travelocity, and find hotels using its search features. Whatever travel site you use, make sure it has hotel database search capabilities and a city input field. You should also be able to select the check-in dates that you previously picked out.
Step 3
Find your destination city's Chamber of Commerce and search it for accommodations. Many times bed-and-breakfast establishments will be listed with hotels and resorts on these sites, as well.
Step 4
Use websites specific to sports in the area to find a hotel. They will sometimes list hotels and motels in the area around their establishment. Tour companies are an excellent place to start.

Sort by stars rating, price or value for a quick look at your hotel options on travel websites.
