How to Change a RV Water Pump

How to Change a RV Water Pump
Water pump maintenance is necessary to have ideal performance in your RV's plumbing system. Before leaving for a new camping excursion, check your water pump. If the water pump is damaged and needs to be changed out for a new one, you can complete the installation process in just a few steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:
  • Flat head screw driver
Step 1
Shut off the water supply and electricity supply.
Step 2
Locate your water storage tank and trace the pipe that extends from the top of the tank and fastens to the inlet connection on the water pump. Remove the hose clamps on the inlet and outlet connections. Next, remove the bolts that secure the water pump to the RV frame.
Step 3
Cut the red and black wires located on your RV's power source. These wires are joined with two wires that are built into the pump. Notice how the wires are paired before removing them so you can fit the new pump correctly.
Step 4
Slide out the water pump and replace it with a new one. Install the bolts, wires and hoses previously removed.
Step 5
Turn the water and power back on.
