The Wenzel Pine Ridge tent is a five-person summer family camping tent. It has a two-pole set-up design that is free standing. A fly is also included with the Pine Ridge tent that has a two-pole design and is simply set atop the tent and fastened to the corners. Although assemble instructions are included with the purchase of the Pine Ridge tent, they are a bit confusing and can cause frustration when setting up the tent. By following a few steps, you can easily assemble the Pine Ridge tent and enjoy your camping experience.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:
  • Tent
  • Fly
  • Poles
  • Stakes
  • Hammer
Step 1
Find a flat area free of rocks, sticks and other sharp objects and spread out the tent so that the top is facing up, then extend all of the poles by pulling each pole section and snapping into place. There will be two long poles for the tent and two short poles for the fly.
Step 2
Insert the two longer poles into the pole sleeves located on the tent so that the poles form an "X" crossing at the center of tent.
Step 3
Starting at one corner of the tent, insert the metal pin into the end of one of the tent poles. At the other end of the same tent pole, push the pole through the sleeve and insert the metal pin into the end of the pole so that the pole forms a "U." Perform the same actions to the other pole so that the tent is standing upright in a dome shape.
Step 4
Use the two pieces of fabric at the top of the tent to tie the two poles together, then snap all of the plastic hooks on the poles.
Step 5
Insert fly poles into fabric sections located at the front and back of the fly. Pressure will have to be applied to bow out fly poles. Place the fly on top of the tent so that the bowed-out pole areas are located over the doors of the tent.
Step 6
Extend elastic sections located at each corner of the fly and attach to the metal O-rings located at each corner of the tent, then attach fasteners located on each corner of the fly to the tent frame poles.
Step 7
Place stakes through metal O-rings located at each corner of the tent and pound in the ground using a hammer, then place a stake in the end of the pieces of fabric located on both sides of the fly, extend out and pound into the ground.

Tips & Warnings

If you are setting up the tent in an area where the ground is too hard to pound in stakes, rocks or other heavy objects can be used to hold the tent in place.

Do not set up the tent during thunderstorms as tent poles will act as conductors for lightning.
