The American Automobile Association, or AAA, has an established, trusted history with American travelers. AAA members get discounted rates at many leading hotels around the world. If you've made a AAA hotel reservation and need to cancel, you must do so within a specific window of time.

Online Reservation Cancellation

Things You’ll Need:
  • AAA membership card number Hotel reservation information
  • AAA membership card number
  • Hotel reservation information
Step 1
Log into your AAA online travel account. You will need to use the AAA site user ID and password that you established when you made your online hotel reservation.
Step 2
Find the link for the hotel reservation you need to cancel. It will be listed under "My Trips." Click on this link.
Step 3
Locate the "Cancel Reservation" link, and click to cancel the reservation. Be aware that most hotel reservations must be canceled at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled check-in date, or your credit card may be charged for the stay.
Step 4
Confirm that you would like to cancel the reservation by clicking "OK" when prompted. To keep the reservation, click "Cancel." The site will give you a confirmation number for the cancellation.

Phone Reservation Cancellation

Step 1
Call the hotel where you're canceling the reservation. To find the contact information for the hotel, consult the hotel website or call directory assistance.
Step 2
Tell the operator that you'd like to cancel a reservation. Because a AAA hotel reservation is simply one that uses a AAA discount, there are no special cancellation policies. The hotel operator will cancel the reservation immediately if you are attempting to cancel with sufficient notice according to the hotel's cancellation policies.
Step 3
Request a confirmation number or mailed receipt of cancellation for your records. This will serve as proof if there are any surprise charges due to an incorrect cancellation.

Tips & Warnings

Check to see that all rooms have been canceled if you are canceling a group reservation. It's possible that some rooms may mistakenly not be canceled, leaving you open for surprise charges. Always ask for a receipt of cancellation or a confirmation number for each room.
