How to Fold a Coleman Tent

Disassembling a Coleman tent is a simple task, but fitting that tent into the small storage bag provided can present a bit of a challenge. Take the time to clean your tent before you begin folding it to keep moisture and dirt away. When the tent is properly folded and rolled, it should slide easily into the storage bag. If you have any problems, unfold the tent and start again.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:
  • Towel
Step 1
Wipe the inside and outside of the tent with a towel before you begin to disassemble the tent to remove any dirt or moisture.
Step 2
Remove the tent poles and tent stakes.
Step 3
Spread the tent out flat on the ground to form a square or a rectangle.
Step 4
Fold the tent in half, smoothing any lumps until the tent is flat.
Step 5
Fold the tent in half again, in the same direction, to create a long rectangle. Smooth down the tent to keep it folded as neatly as possible.
Step 6
Lay the tent storage back across the narrow end of the tent. If the tent is wider than the length of the storage bag, fold the tent in half one more time.
Step 7
Roll the tent up tightly, starting at one narrow end.
Step 8
Push the rolled-up tent into the storage bag.

Tips & Warnings

Store your Coleman tent in a clean, dry place.
