How to Book Cheap Hotels in Dubai Without a Credit Card

Dubai, home of the largest building in the world, is a hot travel location due to its proximity to the water and the many features it provides the traveler looking to enjoy a different corner of the world. When staying at a hotel in Dubai you have a few different options when booking the room, even if you don't want to use a credit card. Often it is a good idea to skip on using the credit card because you are charged a large international fee. However, the only way you can book a hotel with cash is in person.

Things You’ll Need:

Step 1

Withdraw money from your back account at a ATM or change money if you are carrying a foreign currency at a local bank or money changer. You can usually obtain the room for less when booking with cash.

Step 2

Enter the hotel and ask for the rates of the room. Go around town to a few different hotels before deciding.

Step 3

Pay in cash for the room. This avoids your sometimes hefty credit card surcharges. However, if you are short on cash and didn't withdraw it you can use your debit card. Some locations in Dubai charge a usage fee, meaning you are going to be charged by both the hotel and your credit card company for using it.

Step 4

Give the additional deposit money to the hotel for your key. Some Dubai hotels charge a deposit for your key, so if you lose the key you lose your deposit. Simply give the key back to the hotel clerk when checking out to receive your deposit back (make sure and ask for it back, otherwise the clerk may "forget").
