How to Rig Fishing Bobbers

Bobbers enable anglers to see when a fish is biting. They basically take the guesswork out of the situation. Bobbers come in two basic styles: ones that snap onto your line without your having to remove the hook and ones that have to be placed on the line before you tie your hook on. Whichever one you choose depends on personal preference.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step 1
Snap-on bobber, or bubble bobber
Snap-on bobber, or bubble bobber
Use a snap-on bobber if you already have your line rigged with a hook and are ready to start fishing.
Step 2
Choose the area on your fishing line to hook your bobber that is approximately the same depth as the water you are fishing in.
Step 3
Push down on the top of the bobber to open the bottom metal hook. Hook that portion of the bobber onto your line.
Step 4
Push up on the bottom of the bobber where the metal hook is that you just attached to the line. Attach the top hook of the bobber onto the fishing line. Adjust its height by sliding it along the fishing line.
Step 5
Slip-on bobber

Remove the peg from the bobber and slide the bobber onto your line to a point that the depth of the water you are fishing in is at.
Step 6
Push the peg firmly into place on the top of the bobber to keep it attached to your line. Remove the peg and slide the bobber to another position on the line if you need to chance its placement.
