Butane torches are useful for a variety of art, craft, mechanical and even culinary projects. Because they are a handy household tool, butane torches are designed to be easy for anyone to refill. The entire process usually takes less than a minute to complete.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Butane torch
  • Butane fuel canister
Step 1
Turn the butane torch upside down and look for a small hole in the bottom. The hole will be the same size as the butane fuel canister nozzle.
Step 2
Remove the cap from the butane fuel canister and turn the canister upside down. Insert the nozzle into the hole in the bottom of the torch.
Step 3
Press the nozzle down firmly until you here a hissing sound from the canister. This hissing sound is the butane transferring from the fuel canister into the torch.
Step 4
Continue filling the torch until you hear a sputtering sound. This sputtering occurs because the lighter is full and no more fuel can fit inside.
Step 5
Remove the canister from the bottom of the torch.
