How to Get the Odor of Cigarette Smoke Out of Your Hotel Room
If you've ever been into a home or a car where the owner smokes, you know cigarette smoke leaves a pungent smell. Getting rid of the smell is an even bigger problem. Air fresheners might just temporarily overpower the odor. However, you can take several steps to eliminate the odor completely.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Apple cider vinegar Small to medium bowl Candles/incense Deodorizing spray Dryer sheets Baking soda Deodorizing all-purpose cleaner Napkins Scented oil
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Small to medium bowl
  • Candles/incense
  • Deodorizing spray
  • Dryer sheets
  • Baking soda
  • Deodorizing all-purpose cleaner
  • Napkins
  • Scented oil
Step 1
Pour two to three cups of apple cider vinegar in a small- to medium-sized bowl. Let the bowl of vinegar sit in the center of the room for a three to four hours with the doors and windows shut, then open the doors and windows to rid the room of the vinegar smell.
Step 2
Light candles or incense to release powerful aromas into the room to mask the smell of the vinegar.
Step 3
Spray the bedding with a deodorizing spray or have the bedding washed. Stick dryer sheets inside of the pillow cases.
Step 4
Sprinkle the carpet with baking soda. Allow it to sit for a three to four hours, then request that your room be vacuumed.
Step 5
Scrub surfaces (tables, desks, chairs, TV stands) with a deodorizing all-purpose cleaner. Smoke residue not only sticks to fabrics, but it can be left on surfaces like wood, metal and plastic.
Step 6
Wipe off the light bulbs in the room. Turn them off and allow them to cool down for at least 10 minutes. Spray a small amount of cleaner onto a napkin or cloth and wipe the bulbs down. Drop a few drops of scented oil onto the bulbs to release a more pleasurable smell in your room.
