How to Get a Tourist Visa for Dubai

How to Get a Tourist Visa for Dubai
When traveling to Dubai, a territory within the UAE (United Arab Emirates), you must obtain a tourist visa to enter the country. However, you do not need to apply for such a visa before departing. You can receive your visa upon arrival when going through customs. You only need minimum paperwork and a few dirhams (UAE currency) to enter the city of Dubai.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Passport 100 dirhams
  • Passport
  • 100 dirhams
Step 1
Step off your flight, collect your baggage and head directly to customs.
Step 2
Present your passport to the customs official. The customs official will scan your passport and while your travel information loads onto the screen he will ask several questions, such as what you intend to do in the country and how long you are staying.
Step 3
Pay the customs fee of 100 dirhams (roughly $27 U.S.). It is best to have the dirhams before entering the customs line. If you don't have the proper currency look for a currency exchange station inside the airport.
Step 4
Wait for the customs official to stamp your passport. This will be your tourist visa, allowing you to vacation in Dubai for the allotted amount of time stamped. You must be a resident of one of 79 countries to obtain the tourist visa. Some of these countries include the U.S., Canada, Singapore, Germany, France, The United Kingdom and Ireland.
