The Best Way to Pack a Suit for Airline Travel

The Best Way to Pack a Suit for Airline Travel
Packing a suit can be a tricky endeavor. When packing your suit for airline travel, you will want to wait until the last minute to pack it to prevent unnecessary wrinkles. Take your suit to the dry cleaner to have it pressed and use the plastic to help cushion your jacket and slacks. Common bath and hand towels will aid you in packing your suit because they help to provide extra cushioning while keeping your suit rolled tight. Once you arrive at your hotel, you will be thankful that your suit arrived safely and in mint condition.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:
  • 2 towels 1 hand towel Suitcase
  • 2 towels
  • 1 hand towel
  • Suitcase
Step 1
Take the suit to the dry cleaner prior to flying. Instruct the dry cleaner to press the suit.
Step 2
Remove the hanger from the suit. When you receive the suit back from the dry cleaner, take the hanger out carefully but leave the plastic intact.
Step 3
Find two clean bath towels and one hand towel. Fold your suit jacket in half vertically, then fold the arms and tuck them into the suit.
Step 4
Fold a bath towel in half lengthwise. Roll the towel up tightly, then roll your jacket over the towel. The jacket will wrap around the towel. The plastic left on the suit and the towel will help to provide protection to prevent wrinkles.
Step 5
Lay the creased slacks out with the plastic still intact. Fold a hand towel in half lengthwise, then roll it up. Roll the pants over the hand towel, starting at the hem and working them around the towel.
Step 6
Pack your essentials into the suitcase. Once you have everything packed, fold a bath towel in half and lay it over your items. Add your rolled suit on top of the towel, and close your suitcase carefully to prevent zipping the plastic into your luggage.
