How to Acquire a Vietnam Visa

How to Acquire a Vietnam Visa
In order to enter the country of Vietnam, you must obtain a visa. This is unlike most of the other countries in the region. However, you can obtain a Vietnam visa from any local country or from home. If you are visiting other countries first--such as Thailand and Cambodia--you can obtain a tourist visa for Vietnam far cheaper there than what you would pay in the United States or other home country.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step 1
Visit a local travel agency. If you plan to travel to larger cities such as Bangkok before entering the country, use a travel agent there. You can find hundreds of small travel shops around the city, all of which can secure your visa for a small fee.
Step 2
Supply your passport information, your full name, when you intend to visit and how long you plan on staying.
Step 3
Pay the booking fee for for the visa. If in Bangkok, this is going to cost around 1,000 baht (roughly $30).
Step 4
Receive your tourist visa from the travel agency. Keep your visa information safe in your passport. If you lose the paperwork, you will need to apply for another visa. Additionally, if you plan on leaving Vietnam to visit another country and then returning to Vietnam, you need to apply for a multiple-entry visa. These visas generally cost around $95.
