How to Save Money on Disney Hotel Rooms

How to Save Money on Disney Hotel Rooms
When planning your next trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, consider staying at a Disney Resort hotel. When you stay at one of the resorts, you enjoy perks like getting into the park earlier than the general public, free transportation to all the parks, shuttle service to and from the airport, and affordable dining options. Some Disney Resorts have hiking and exercise trails if you who want more exercise than just exploring the park itself. And with enough research and planning, you can find a number of ways to save money on your Disney hotel room.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step 1
Request the free vacation-planning DVD directly from the Walt Disney World website. On it you'll find tips for planning your vacation to the Magic Kingdom, as well as information about Disney Resort hotels, such as the Wilderness Lodge Resort, which has a hiking trail to the Fort Wilderness campground and free boat rides on the lake. The site also posts special discounts and deals.
Step 2
Subscribe to the free newsletter at MouseSavers.com. This monthly newsletter offers exclusive discounts. You can also sign up for the Mouse Savers Hot Deals e-mail, which features limited-time offers and discounts. Check the site regularly for discounts as well.
Step 3
Check and see if any of the big travel sites have any exclusive offers. Compare results from sites like Hotwire, Expedia and Travelocity to see who has the best price on Disney Resorts like the Port Orleans Resort, which has a hiking trail that runs along a small river.
Step 4
Order a coupon book from Entertainment.com. You can even check the website for what offers are available.
Step 5
Ask for any special deals and discounts from any groups you belong, such as AAA or AARP. Also consider signing up for travel clubs that have exclusive discounts for members.
Step 6
Call and speak with a live operator, as opposed to booking online. A Disney operator will have the latest special offers available that may not yet have been published on the Web.
Step 7
Plan your trip for the off-season. Peak travel season is when rates are the highest. If you're flexible about when you want to travel, you should be able to find some great deals. Off-season also means shorter lines and smaller crowds.

Tips & Warnings

Take your time. If you're not in a rush and do your research thoroughly, you'll be able to find the best deals for you and your family.
