How to Rent an RV Mobile Home

How to Rent an RV Mobile Home
If you want the convenience of traveling in an RV but don't travel enough to feel you are getting your money's worth out of buying one, then an RV rental might be just the thing for you. Many people don't realize it, but you can rent an RV just about as easily as renting a car. In fact, the process is much the same, though there are some special considerations.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Insurance
  • Drivers license
  • Credit card
Step 1
Research RV rental companies early on when planning your trip. Rental companies such as Cruise America and USA RV Rentals have nationwide support and come with the comfort of knowing you're renting from a major national corporation. However, smaller local companies can offer significantly cheaper rates and sometimes more benefits. Shop around and see which deal is the best and most comfortable for you. Be aware of all the potential fees, including mileage fees, generator hour fees, supplemental insurance fees and cleaning fees.
Step 2
Make your reservation once you have decided on a company. Most RV rental companies will require a deposit of $1,000 or half of your total estimated rental cost, whichever is less. All major national rental companies require a credit card for registration, as do most smaller local companies. Be careful if you are making your reservation using a debit card, as there is often an extra hold amount put on your card for this convenience.
Step 3
Bring your reservation information, insurance, drivers license and the credit card used in making the reservation when you go to pick up the RV. All of this documentation will be required, and the company will keep a copy of your license and insurance information on file.
Step 4
Clean the RV thoroughly before returning it to the rental company. Companies expect their RVs to be basically ready for the next customer to use when they are returned. Failure to return the RV in this condition could result in a cleaning fee being added to your final bill and charged to your credit card.
