How to Clean an OXO Good Grip Travel Mug
Oxo products typically feature oversized grips made of a material that allows for a firm and secure grip. There are many types of kitchen and household items, including cooking utensils and hand tools, made by Oxo. One particularly popular and practical item made by Oxo is the Good Grip Travel Mug. Designed to be more securely handled by travelers and motorists, the mug features the famous Oxo grip design. Cleaning the Oxo Travel Mug is fairly straightforward as is the case with most Oxo products.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Detergent Dish cloth Drying cloth
  • Detergent
  • Dish cloth
  • Drying cloth
Step 1
Mix a soapy solution with mild dish detergent. Use the detergent manufacturer's directions for detergent based on the amount of water to be used. The water should be warm to hot, but not scalding hot.
Step 2
Put the travel mug in the soapy water solution so as to completely immerse the mug. Allow the mug to soak for a few minutes, especially if there are any stubborn stains or residue.
Step 3
Wash the mug thoroughly using the dish cloth. Make sure to address any stains and pay special attention to the rim, small openings, screw threads, and handle.
Step 4
Rinse the mug with warm to hot water. Repeat the process several times if necessary to remove all of the detergent. Allow running water to run into small openings or crevices to help with soap removal.
Step 5
Dry the mug thoroughly. This may be accomplished by placing the mug upside down in a drying rack or by using a clean drying cloth to remove moisture from the mug.

Tips & Warnings

Oxo products are also dishwasher safe and may be washed with other dish and glassware.

If putting the mug in the dishwasher, it is a good idea to remove the mug before the drying cycle begins. Although Oxo products are designed to withstand the rigors of daily life and dishwashers, removing the mug prior to the heated drying cycle can help prevent damage.
