Vertical Ascent Tent Set-Up Instructions

Vertical Ascent Tent Set-Up Instructions
Whether you are backpacking or mountain climbing, you want a vertical ascent tent that is light and easy to set up but still tough enough to withstand nights on the alpine. The Hubba Hubba tent is a perfect fit for these requirements---so perfect that it was awarded "Backpacker Magazine" Editors' Choice Award in 2005. To set up a vertical ascent tent with a hub and swivel design like the Hubba Hubba, follow the instructions below.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step 1
Lay the tent out flat on the ground. Stake all four corners tightly. Insert the poles into the round hub and lay the assembled hub pole on top of the tent.
Step 2
Slide the ends of the two shorter sections of the hubbed pole into the grommets at each end of the tent, one at a time. Insert the short cross pole into the two grommets in the tent's ceiling.
Step 3
Fasten the clips on the outside of the tent to the pole running the length of the tent and the cross pole.
Step 4
Unfold the rainfly over the top of the tent. Attach the rainfly to the tent using the fly grommets in the middle of the cross pole and then slip the adjustable grommets through the end of the tent pole at each corner.
Step 5
Pull the vestibules out until they are tight and secure them with stakes.

Tips & Warnings

Check the ground for rocks and stumps before laying the tent flat.
