How to Send Money to a Hotel
Perhaps, you have found the perfect hotel for your trip. You have identified it well in advance, much to your satisfaction. However, you don't own a credit or debit card and you need to reserve your hotel in advance, or maybe you are just curious to utilize another method. In either case, Western Union and the use of bank transfers are viable options that are rather simple to execute. With a basic understanding of each method, your hotel reservation can be secured in a matter of minutes.

Instructions for Sending Western Union

Things You’ll Need:
  • Western Union agent Bank account E-mail address or fax machine

  • E-mail address or fax machine
Step 1
Find your local Western Union agent. Usually check cashing services as well as convenience stores offer this service. Double check with the location to ensure that they offer Western Union services.
Step 2
Request the blue Western Union form. Look for words at the top of the form that says: "Payment Services" or "Quick Pay." Fill out each section. Specify the amount you want to send at the top of the form. Write the hotel's name in the next section that reads "Company Name." Fill in your name, address and phone number in the "Sender Information."
Step 3
Double check the form to ensure that each section is filled out correctly and to completion. Pay the agent the amount you would like to send. Wait for the agent to receive the the Money Transfer Control Number, as this is your confirmation.
Step 4
Contact the hotel to whom you are sending the money. Inform it that you have sent the money via Western Union. Wait approximately 15 minutes and call back to confirm the money has been received. Get an e-mail confirmation that the hotel has received payment and that your hotel has been booked.

Bank Transfers

Step 1
Check your bank account to ensure that you have the money you need to send. Write down the name of the hotel to receive the money. Contact the hotel to ask about its bank transfer policy. Many hotels offer this option via their websites.
Step 2
Make the payment at your bank. Obtain a receipt and fax it to the hotel as soon as possible. You may even ask your bank to fax it to the hotel. Contact the hotel to ensure that it has received the fax.
Step 3
Ask the hotel to send you a voucher to confirm the payment via e-mail or fax. Check your e-mail or fax machine to verify that the voucher has been sent.
