How to Book a Pakistan International Airlines Flight

How to Book a Pakistan International Airlines Flight
Booking a flight with Pakistani International Airlines recently became much easier with the introduction of online booking for both domestic and international flights. Referred to as "PIA" by Pakistanis, the airline offers frequent domestic flights and also flies to cities in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Passport for international travel National ID card for domestic travel Credit or debit card
  • Passport for international travel
  • National ID card for domestic travel
  • Credit or debit card
Step 1
Go to the PIA Web site: www.piac.com.pk. In the green section in the middle of the screen, click on "Schedules/Ticketing." Many PIA flights, particularly on international routes, are only offered once or twice a week. Trying to find tickets when you don't know what days the flights are running can be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Enter your origin and destination cities and your approximate dates of travel. Make sure that "Weekly Schedule" is selected to see when flights run between the two cities. If you're flying from North America, you will see that flights run twice weekly between New York and Lahore, as well as New York and Karachi. Currently these flights are scheduled for Saturdays and Wednesdays. From Toronto, PIA offers direct service to Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad, although the most weekly flights are on the Toronto-Karachi route.
Step 2
Switch to "Reservation/Ticketing." Fill in your origin, destination, travel dates, number of passengers and preferred class. Choose a date when a flight is between the two cities. PIA offers three classes of travel: economy, economy-plus and business. All flights do not offer all classes; some domestic flights offer only business-class travel. When all the information is filled in, click "Proceed."
Step 3
The dates, times and fares between your origin and destination come into view. Choose the best fare or travel day and proceed.
Step 4
Fill in your passenger details. You will need all travelers' passport information for international travel and your CNIC information for domestic travel.
Step 5
Pay for your tickets by credit or debit card. Keep in mind that the credit-card holder must be in the traveling party. You will need to present the credit card upon check-in. If you prefer to pay in cash, you will need to visit a PIA travel center. After your tickets have been paid for, print your online tickets. If you are unable to access a printer at the moment, you can print your tickets later by accessing them via e-mail.

Tips & Warnings

Within Pakistan, fares and flight schedules are readily available by visiting a PIA office or travel agent. With a travel agent, you can make a down payment to hold a seat and pay the balance when you pick up the ticket. Bring your passport or ID.
