How to Buy Tickets for Disneyland

Step 1
Decide on a base ticket. You can purchase your tickets online directly from Disney or from various ticketing agents. Once you identify some of the ticketing sellers online, you need to decide on what type of ticket you're looking to purchase. The base ticket allows you to visit one theme park daily. Once you've decided how many parks and how many days you'll be at Disney, you can decided what type of base ticket may be the most cost effective and time effective way to go.
Step 2
Select additional ticket options. To build off your base ticket there are several other options you can choose to add on to your base tickets. Some of the choices include Park Hopper, tickets without an expiration date and advance purchase ticket options. Park Hopper tickets allow you to visit different Disney parks without having to pay an individual ticket price for each park. Advance ticket purchases can help you to save money by purchasing your tickets before you arrive at Disney, while tickets without an expiration date may be the most beneficial if you're not sure when you'll be able to use your tickets.
Step 3
Check for discount ticket deals. Disney and its ticket dealers offer discounts for a variety of programs. Be sure to inquire about deals and specials for being a member of travel clubs, associations or credit card companies. Disney also has a special birthday promotion, when applicable, where you can enjoy free admission to one theme park on your birthday. You have to register directly on the Disney website to take advantage of this special promotion (if it is available to residents of the state where you live).
Step 4
Register and purchase your custom ticket online. Once you identify the site where you want to purchase your tickets, register for an account and walk through the steps of purchasing your tickets. The convenient part about purchasing online tickets is that the tickets are delivered to your email address and you can print them out on your computer printer.
Step 5
Print a hard copy of your e-tickets. When you e-tickets arrive in your inbox, print out each ticket and put them with your other travel paperwork. The other good thing about e-tickets is that if you misplace your tickets, you can replace them by presenting your credit card and picture ID to the online ticketing agent to you're your tickets reissued.
Step 6
Present your e-ticket at the Disney park entrance. Your e-ticket is scanned and voided once you enter the park (unless you purchased multiple day or multiple park passes).

Tips & Warnings

Book your Disney e-tickets at least two weeks before your planned trip for better pricing. If you happen to forget your Disneyland resort ticket, proceed to Guest Services at the Will Call window at the theme park's Main Entrance for the replacement e-ticket. Avoid buying discounted tickets at online auction sites because you may end up paying more than the tickets you can buy directly from Disney or its other authorized dealers.
