Step 1
(REFERENCE 3) Browse the airline website at Lufthansa.com and click the "Booking" tab. Enter the departure and arrival airport and click "Search Flights." A list of prices appears.
Step 2
Choose any price and click "Continue." A list of flight numbers between the cities appears. If you need more information on the flight, click the number. Otherwise, write down the flight numbers that you want to track.
Step 3
(REFERENCE 2) Browse a flight tracking website like FlightStats.com. Enter "LH" in the "Airline" box and the flight number, like "457" in the "Flight" box. If the departure date is other than today, enter the new date.
Step 4
Click "Search" to display the status of the flight including equipment, whether it is on time and estimated arrival. (You need to scroll down for complete information.) If the flight is still in the air, click "Track Flight On Map" and then "Track" on the disclaimer. The plane and its route appear on a Google map that you can zoom into for more details.
Step 5
Set up automated tracking by clicking "Set Flight Alert." (You'll be asked to register for a free account.) You can receive arrival and departure messages via email or cell phone. Note that while email messages are free, your phone provider may charge you for the cell notification. Check with your service provider for more information.
