How to Find Cheap Airplane Tickets
If you know how to surf the Web, you won't have a hard time finding cheap airline tickets, as long as you keep a few tips in mind and check the right websites. Calling a travel agent is also an option if you prefer to speak with someone about your travels, but make sure you find someone experienced whom you can trust.

Step 1
Look online and compare airfare based on your dates of travel. The more flexible you can be with your dates and times of departure, the better chance you will have at a cheaper airfare. Always check for flights from nearby airports for a possibly lower fare. Check sites such as Orbitz, Fare Compare, Travel Zoo or, if you are a student/youth traveler, STA Travel.
Step 2
To find cheaper airfare, keep these tips in mind: Travel midweek on early or late flights, avoid nonstop flights, use frequent flier miles, use budget airlines, check for last-minute fares, avoid summer and winter holiday travel, never get a paper ticket, book online instead over the phone, take carry-on luggage only and sign up for airline/search engine newsletters or fare alerts.
Step 3
Submit your passenger and payment details once you find a price that you are happy with. If you have a frequent flier account with your chosen airline, enter your account number at this time.
Step 4
Print and save your confirmation page and/or email to present at the airline counter when you check in.
