How to Apply for a Visiting Visa for Singapore

How to Apply for a Visiting Visa for Singapore
Singapore is a popular Asian tourist destination for Western travelers looking for great outdoors activities without the cost and crowds associated with Hong Kong and other major Asian destinations. English is the official language of the country, and you do not need to acquire a tourist visa for your trip unless you plan to spend more than 30 days in the country. If you do plan on staying longer than a month for your trip, you can acquire a tourist visa with a valid passport before your trip.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step 1
Confirm that you require a Singapore visa for your vacation or trip. U.S. citizens do not require a Singapore visa for stays in duration of less than 30 days. If you do require a visa for your trip, you will need to ensure your passport has at least 6 months of time remaining before it expires from your date of arrival in the country.
Step 2
Download and print a tourist visa application from the Singapore Consulate Immigration website. Singapore offers an online application as well as the ability to manually apply for your visa with the printable visa application form.
Step 3
Ensure your passport is valid for 6 months after your arrival date in Singapore. You will also need to provide a copy of your return airline ticket with your Visa application, a copy of your passport and two passport photos.
Step 4
Submit your visa application online or mail the form and supporting documentation to the Singapore authorities. It can take between 4 days and 4 weeks to have your visa processed, so ensure you budget enough time to receive your visa before starting your trip. At the time of this writing, the cost for a Singapore tourist visa was $30 Singapore. Upon approval of your visa request, it will be mailed to your address of record on the application.
