How to Track an International Flight Status

How to Track an International Flight Status
Long-distance travel can bring on anxiety for friends and loved ones while an individual is in transit. Is he OK? Is she making progress? How soon do I need to leave to be at the airport in time to pick him up? The Internet has made it reasonably simple to track flights and their progress globally. All you need is a computer connected to the Internet and a little specific information.

Tracking International Flights

Things You’ll Need:
  • Computer with Internet connection Flight information
  • Computer with Internet connection
  • Flight information
Step 1
Bring your note pad containing the name of the airline along with the flight number and have it next to you at your computer.
Step 2
Point your web browser to a directory of online trackers. One of the best resources is the Futura Studios flight tracker (see Resources).
Step 3
Follow the directions for using Google to search for your flight information first, as mentioned mid-page on the Futura Studios website. This method is surprisingly accurate, and a large number of flights can be tracked through such a simple search technique.
Step 4
Visit any of the other well-known free flight-tracking services online should your Google search not produce the results you expected. Though most of these services hope you will buy their flight-tracking software, it isn't a requirement to use the freely available tools. The best first alternative after trying your hand at a Google search is the automated tracking system available from FlyteComm (see Resources).
