How to Plan a Route Using a Garmin 350 GPS
The Garmin 350 is part of the nuvi line of GPS devices from the navigational product manufacturer. Features of the Garmin 350 include plug-and-play availability, preloaded street maps, turn-by-turn directions and 3-D maps. Besides navigational components, you can view pictures, view world travel clock and currency converter. Using the tools included with the Garmin 350, you can effectively plan your route to arrive at your destination.

Step 1
Press the "Where To?" tab from the main menu of your Garmin 350 GPS unit. If you don't have an exact place in mind, you can instead select "Map" to see an overview of the area you are currently in.
Step 2
Enter the address of the destination you want to travel to. You'll need to enter the street name, city name and state.
Step 3
Plan your route by searching for a point of interest. Instead of a physical address, you can also retrieve navigational information by selecting one of the categories under the "Where To?" menu. Available categories include fuel, hotels and restaurants.
Step 4
Select "Go" when you are ready to start the route for the destination you have entered. You will then be redirected to the route guidance map view and start to receive turn-by-turn audio directions. The arrows on the map will let you know when you need to make turns.
Step 5
Add stops or detours along the way when using your Garmin 350. To add a stop, touch "Menu" while route guidance is active. Use the "Where to?" menu to search for your stop. When you select "Go," you'll be prompted by the GPS to make this a stop along the way to your original destination. If you are unable to travel the route suggested by the unit, touch the "Detour" key for alternate directions.

Tips & Warnings

For more route-planning information, you can refer to your nuvi 350's owner's manual. If you have misplaced it, download a free version from the Garmin website.
