How to Add Point of Air Travel Mileage by Austrian

How to Add Point of Air Travel Mileage by Austrian
Miles and More is the frequent flier program of Austrian Airlines, but also of other airlines. As with so many frequent flier programs, earning enough miles for free flights or upgrades to take you on your next outdoor adventure can be difficult if you're relying entirely on flying. It therefore pays to know all the other ways you can get miles with Austrian's Miles and More.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step 1
Check the Miles and More special offers. For example, between Aug. 1 and Dec. 31, 2009, a regular-price stay of less than five days at a Ramada in Canada or the U.S. will earn 1,000 miles. Austrian's Miles and More is routinely offering dozens of bonus miles specials on telecom services, hotels, car rentals and flying particular routes.
Step 2
Fly on a Miles and More partner airline. In addition to Austrian Airlines, these are Lufthansa, Swiss and LOT. If you are faced with a choice between Air France and Lufthansa, for example, choose Lufthansa unless it is much more expensive. Making choices this way will allow you to concentrate your frequent flier miles, rather than spreading them out over several different accounts where they never add up to anything useful.
Step 3
Get a Miles and More credit card. You will get a 10,000- or 15,000-mile bonus for opening the account, another 10,000- or 15,000-mile bonus for the first balance transfer, and one frequent flier mile per dollar spent using the card after that. You can earn two frequent flier miles per dollar spent with a Miles and More partner. Having a credit card is a good way to keep Austrian Airlines Miles and More from erasing your account for non-usage, since you can keep it active with any small purchase.
