How to Clean Coleman Camp Stoves

How to Clean Coleman Camp Stoves
Whether you're a seasoned camper or just starting out, you probably have a Coleman camp stove. They're a mainstay to any camper's camping gear. The great thing about using a Coleman camp stove is you're able to cook just about anything you cook at home on one. If you're used to electric stoves, the ability to control your heat on the propane camp stove, will spoil you.
As with any type of cooking, there's bound to be spilled or boiled over food. If this happens with your camp stove, don't fret because they're rather easily cleaned. You'll need a few common household products and in no time, you're stove will look clean and brand new.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:
  • Cloths Warm, soapy water Spray cleaner Paper towels
  • Cloths
  • Warm, soapy water
  • Spray cleaner
  • Paper towels
Step 1
Remove the propane bottles from the stove, if they're still attached. Since you'll be moving the stove around, you won't want the propane connections to get pulled or damaged during the cleaning process.
Step 2
Remove the grill from the stove. Pick the metal piece up and remove it from the inside of the stove.
Step 3
Use your cloth dipped in some warm, soapy water and wipe the grill off. If you prefer to use a spray cleaner, you may do so. Set the rack aside, once you've cleaned it off.
Step 4
Use some paper towels and wipe up any loose food that may be at the bottom of the grill. Many times, particles of food will drop to the bottom of the stove. This won't keep the stove from working, it will just make your stove dirty and filled with old food. It's not sanitary, or healthy, to have old food laying at the bottom of the stove. This can also attract pests, such as cockroaches and ants.
Step 5
Wipe the interior of your stove with a cloth and warm, soapy water. This will remove any grease and the remains of any food products, that may have spilled. You can also use an all purpose cleaner, if you desire.
Step 6
Clean the outside of the stove. Wipe the whole exterior of the stove with your cloth and soapy water. This will keep your stove in good shape, as rust may develop if the outside is left dirty.
Step 7
Dry the interior and exterior of the stove with a dry cloth, after you've finished cleaning it.
Step 8
Replace the grill and place all the parts back in place. You can now close your Coleman camp stove and snap it shut. The next time you use it, you'll be happy to have a clean camp stove to use.
