How to Troubleshoot a Garmin Nuvi 750

The Garmin Nuvi 750 is a touch-screen navigational system featuring a widescreen display, preloaded city maps, MP3 player and many other features. The Garmin Nuvi operates on a rechargeable battery that will last up to five hours after each charge. This model also includes a vehicle power cable to power the Nuvi while on the road. When experiencing difficulties with the Garmin Nuvi 750, take a few simple steps to troubleshoot the problem and find a solution.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step 1

Turn your Garmin Nuvi 750 off and on to see if that resolves the problem. If not, move the power button to the left and hold it in place for eight seconds before releasing it and turning the power back on.

Step 2

Recalibrate your Nuvi by moving the power button to the right and holding your finger on the screen for 30 seconds. Your Nuvi will guide you through the process with onscreen prompts.

Step 3

Check the temperature. Your Garmin Nuvi cannot charge in temperatures exceeding 113 degrees. Leaving your Nuvi in direct sunlight inside a car could prevent it from charging.

Step 4

Let your Garmin Nuvi fully discharge, and then recharge it completely without interrupting the charging cycle. Charge your Garmin Nuvi by connecting the included vehicle power cable into the windshield mounted cradle of the device and plugging the power cable into a power outlet in your vehicle. Your Nuvi will begin to charge when placed in the cradle.

Step 5

Remove your Nuvi from any parking garage or building that could be blocking satellite signals.
