What To Look For
Gamma's molecularly-treated fishing lines offer an excellent combination of flexibility, strength and abrasion resistance. Gamma makes three lines for standard fishing and two lines for ice fishing. The Copolymer line is extraordinarily strong, but also soft and supple for better casting. Gamma's next-best line is the Edge Fluorocarbon, with Fluorocarbon Leader line also available. Gamma also offers Copolymer Ice and Fluorocarbon Ice lines for ice fishing.
Common Pitfalls
Handling fluorocarbon line is different than using standard monofilament line. Make sure not to overfill your reel, because fluorocarbon lines don't fit as snugly on the spool. And although Gamma lines hold knots better than many fluorocarbon lines, they are still not as good as monofilament lines.
Where To Buy
Gamma fishing lines are available on Gamma's website and at many fishing and sporting goods stores. Gammas also has a dealer locator on its website.
