Northwest Territory Tent Review

Northwest Territory Tent Review

What To Look For

Northwest Territory tents are budget-priced and can be bought at discount stores. Northwest Territory tents are generally made by NorthPole USA, but they may be made by other companies as well. Check the tag inside the tent to see who made it. Northwest Territory tents are very inexpensive, with many going for less than $100. Models include the First Up and the Dome. Most have a bathtub floor design and are easy to set up.

Decide what type of camping you are going to be doing. For those who are car camping, bigger Northwest Territory tents are a better option. For those who are backpacking, some of the smaller designs are better.

Common Pitfalls

As a budget tent, Northwest Territory designs compromise in a couple of areas. One compromise is the rain fly, which does not fully cover the tent. This is fine for recreational camping, but those who are out backpacking, especially in wetter climates, will find that water can leak inside.

The tent poles also are not very durable. They are made with fiberglass instead of aluminum, so they won't be able to withstand higher winds.

Where To Buy

Northwest Territory tents are available at Sears and Kmart.

Cost

Northwest Territory tents are very inexpensive, ranging from $35 for the Dome model to $200 for the 15 foot-by-11 foot Cabana Style with side rooms.
