Common Pitfalls

When shopping for Kelty backpacks, be sure to first determine what you plan to bring on most trips. Don't simply try to eyeball it; instead, decide what you need to carry in the backpack and gather it in one place to be sure you get a pack that everything fits. It's also a good idea to try the backpack on to make sure that it is comfortable. Consider comparing it with other brands to find the backpack best-suited to your shape and size.

Where To Buy

Kelty backpacks are widely available. Prominent online retailers include Backcountry, Altrec and REI. Some more general sports retailers, including Dick's and Sports Authority, are also Kelty dealers.

Cost

Most Kelty backpacks range in price from $50 to $200, depending on individual models.
