I've owned 2 pairs of Tevas (similar to the current Hurricane 3 model). Both pairs have seen frequent tough duty (basketball, golf, rock climbing, hiking, ocean beach activity, etc.) The first pair was retired after 10 years of almost daily use, when the velcro on the main strap began to lose it's holding power in the ocean waves. (Still got em. look great. I might even replace the velcro.) The second lasted only 5 years before the strap by my big toe pulled loose from the well-worn and weakened sole. That was during a hard crossover in basketball. It was pretty much the only shoe that I wore day in, day out, summer, and winter for 3 years. My favorite pair of shoes. I live in Phoenix and blast to Orange County CA frequently.
I've been looking for a sandal that can be worn while camping in the mountains, walking on the beach or just hanging out at the house. I found them. Hands down my favorite pair of shoes.
