So far, so good
I ride flat pedals on a variety of mountain bike trails in and around Tucson, AZ. I was previously riding a Gravis high-top, which has a stiffer sole than most skate Vans, and it was a great shoe. Those shoes are wearing out, and everyone seems to recommend Five-Tens for MTB, so I took a chance on these. The fit of this Five-Ten Line King is good for me. I have worn Vans for a long time, and fit most of their size 12 shoes, though lately it seems like they are getting narrower, or my foot is getting wider. I am currently wearing a DC Patrol size 12 which fits great. After one ride I am pretty happy with these shoes. The soles are stiffer than the Gravis, but not overly stiff, and I can feel my pedals for positioning my feet. They grip better than the Gravis, but not so much that it feels weird. I cannot yet comment on their durability.
