Ski Equipment for Beginners

Ski Equipment for Beginners

Flickr.com

If you are new to skiing, it is easy to get overwhelmed by all the gear choices and equipment required.

Skis and Bindings

As a beginner, is it a good idea to rent skis until you get more comfortable on the slopes. Bindings attach your boots to the skis and will be set by a rental technician.

Ski Boots

You must have correctly fitted ski boots to enjoy skiing or your feet might get too cold or sore to properly ski.

Ski Poles

When you are a beginner, any correctly fitting ski pole will do. As you become more advanced, you might want to try different weight poles.

Ski Accessories

Ski accessories such as helmets and goggles are as essential as skis and bindings. Helmets protect your head in case of a fall and goggles protect your eyes from harsh UV light, and help with visibility during a snowstorm.

Ski Clothing

To stay warm, you will need to have a jacket, ski pants, gloves, hat, ski socks and base layers. Make sure to dress in layers.
