Texas State Capital

The Texas State Capital Building is the largest state capital building in the U.S. The sprawling grounds and impressive rotunda are highlights of a visit that will remind you that Texas was once an independent nation.

Lyndon Johnson Presidential Library

Located on the University of Texas campus, the LBJ library houses an impressive series of exhibits on the LBJ administration with a focus on the Vietnam years and the Great Society Project.

6th Street

6th street is the main drag in the nightlife district of Austin. Full of bars, clubs and live music every weekend, 6th street is the place to be on a Friday or Saturday night.

Congress Bridge Bats

Congress Ave Bridge is the home of the largest urban bat colony in North America. At dusk from Spring through fall, people gather to watch the approximately 1.5 million Mexican free-tail bats emerge from under the bridge to hunt for food.

Barton Springs Pool

Austin is hot, especially in the summer. A favorite place for locals is Barton Springs pool in Zilker Park. Over 900 feet long, this Spring-fed pool is and a cool 68 degrees Fahrenheit year round.
