Location
The Bellagio is located on the site of the old Dunes resort, which opened in 1955. The Dunes closed in 1992, and its buildings were imploded in 1993 and 1994, respectively.
Ownership
Billionaire Steve Wynn developed the Bellagio during his tenure at Mirage Resorts. Mirage Resorts was sold to MGM Grand in 2000.
Opening
The Bellagio opened on Oct. 15, 1998. The grand opening celebration alone was rumored to have cost $88 million--though that amount pales in comparison to the $1.6 billion that it cost to build the Bellagio.
Entertainment
From the beginning, the Bellagio has been home to two of Las Vegas' most spectacular attractions. Cirque du Soleil's "O" has played to sold-out crowds since its first performance on the Bellagio's opening night, and the Fountains of Bellagio continue to amaze audiences with a choreographed (and free) water show.
Expansion
The Bellagio has continued to expand since its opening in 1998. The Spa Tower opened in 2004, bringing the total number of guest rooms to almost 4,000, and the Executive Suite Lounge opened in 2009.
Experience
The Bellagio is known for its outstanding customer service. A concierge is available every day, as is a limousine transfer to the airport--and both of these services are included in your stay.
