Barren River Lake State Park is surrounded on two sides by fingerlings of the far-reaching Barren River Lake. This 10,000-acre lake resides in southern Kentucky, 44 miles southeast Bowling Green, Kentucky, and an hour and half northeast of Nashville, Tennessee.

Lake Amenities

This lake offers complete services for vacationers and outdoor enthusiasts. You can rent boats and pontoons at the marina and pick up extra fishing bait while you are there. Both mini-golf and a full 18-hole course are on sight, with club and cart rentals. A gift shop, Laundromat and grocery story complete the on-site comforts.

Campgrounds & Lodging

Park your RV in one of the campground's 99 sites. There are also 22 cottages, some overlooking the lake. Limited services, such as cooking utensils and fresh linens, are included with the rental of these two-bedroom hideaways. For full amenities and views of the lake and forest, stay in the Louie B. Nunn Lodge.

Outdoor Activities

Much of the outdoor activity is on the water, including fishing, swimming and boating. On land you can explore the trails on foot, horseback or with your mountain bike. According to the Kentucky State Park website, daily activities and special events are a regular part of the action.
