Significance
Fishing with your children is a great way to establish a strong bond with them, and teaching a child fishing will open a world of recreation opportunities as well. Bass fishing is exciting fishing, but it is also a bit more complicated and costly as the best bass fishing is done with specialized equipment and from a boat.
Competitions
Young people usually like fishing, and they like competition, and combining the two is a winning combination. Several Florida counties have fishing tournaments, and even series of tournaments to make up a season. Palm Beach County and Broward County are just two that have such leagues. They also compete against each other at the end of the season.
Higher level
Broward County also has a junior bass tournament trail, which is like a season of fishing. This is like the adult version of bass fishing tournaments. Youngsters between the ages of 12 and 17 have to have a boat to fish out of and an adult with them, but they compete just like the pros do at bass fishing.
Licensing
People may fish in Florida if they are younger than 16 or older than 64. You do not have to have a license to fish on your own property at any age.
