In the state of Georgia you can find both whitewater and sea kayaking opportunities. Kayak clubs throughout the state do daily and multi day trips to rivers, reservoirs and bodies of water within the state.

Purpose

The purpose of the numerous kayak clubs in Georgia are to bring kayakers of different levels together to promote the sport with group paddles, volunteerism and clinics. The clubs are open to new members but because of the risks of kayaking, are all for adults paddlers only.

Types of Kayaking

There are groups that focus on whitewater only, kayak touring and even some that have a combination of members that both kayak and canoe. Sea kayaking trips, class rapids getaways, weekday and weekend paddles are all planned.

Where they Kayak

Whitewater enthusiasts will enjoy trips to Three Rivers and the Tuckaseegee River. The Suwannee River, Hiawassee and Lower Ocoee are just some of the rivers these kayak groups enjoy paddling on.
