European Ski Boot Sizes Vs. American

Most ski boots are measured in European boot sizes, which are more commonly known as the Mondo point sizes. The Mondo point size is a centimeter measurement.

Men's Ski Boot Sizes

Generally speaking, to convert a men's American size to European, add 18 to the American shoe size. For example, a man wearing a size 10 in American shoes would likely be a size 28 Mondo point size system.

Women's Ski Boot Sizes

To convert a women's American size to European, add 16.5-17 to the American shoe size. For example, a woman wearing a size 8 in American shoes would likely be a size 24.5 or 25 in the Mondo point size system.

Precautions

Each ski boot company uses a unique last, or mold, of the foot, which may cause the same size in several brands to fit the foot differently.

How to fit

To ensure a proper fit, boots should be tried on in person with a boot fitter present.

Competitive or Recreational Fit

More advanced skiers will wear a tighter-fitting boot and will choose a smaller size than a recreational skier with the same size foot.
