If you want motivation to get on your bike or miss the camaraderie of working out with a team, joining a bicycle club may be for you. The Channel Islands Bicycle Club offers rides and events for cyclists in Ventura County.

Membership

There are neither prerequisites nor qualifications to join the club. New members sign a liability waiver and pay annual membership dues. In 2010, individual dues are $20.

Weekly Rides

Weekly rides take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. Rides vary in distance from 30 to 60 miles. A ride overview on the club's website ranks the difficulty of each ride.

Events

The club sponsors the annual Cool Breeze Century that takes cyclist up the Ventura coast to East Santa Barbara and back.

Activities

Members participate in cycling outings, including combined bike and train rides to points of interest and summer camping trips.

Meetings

Club meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month and keep members informed of upcoming events and let members help plan future activities.
