Cascade River
Cascade River features rushing waterfalls that lay within black volcanic rocks in the Cascade River State Park. Scenic viewing of diverse plant life---including lush moss and ferns, as well as birch, white cedar and spruce---draws in visitors to the park each year.
Campground
Different campsites are offered in the park, including tent sites and RV sites. Campground facilities include picnic areas, fire rings, shower, vault toilets and a dump station.
Activities
Many recreational activities are available in Cascade State Park, including hiking, fishing, bicycling and picnicking. During winter, you can enjoy snowshoeing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
Trails
Eighteen miles of hiking trails are available for hiking. Trails cross over varied terrain and pass through many scenic areas. The Superior Hiking Trail and the North Shore State Trail connect with trails within the park.
Fishing
Visitors can also fish in Cascade River, as well as Lake Superior. Find and catch fish such species as steelhead, salmon and brook trout.
