Canaan Valley State Park in West Virginia

Canaan Valley Resort State Park, West Virginia, offers visitors a four-season destination for many recreation including hiking and wildlife viewing. Canaan Valley has a base elevation of 3,100 feet and is nestled on a plateau with scenic views of the surrounding peaks.

Activities

Activities in the park include biking, hiking, climbing, hiking and golf. Nature lovers can view wildlife such as more than 200 species of birds.

Trails

Eighteen miles of trails winds through the park with natural features like wetlands, hills, streams and hardwood forests. Many of the park's trails are linked with the Monongahela National Forest.

Campground

Canaan Valley State Park offers 34 campsites with full hookups. Campsites have paved and wooded sites with comfort stations, laundry and shower facilities. You can also purchase ice and firewood onsite.

Nature Center

Canaan Valley State Park has a Nature Center that offers guided walks throughout the park. The Nature Center staff can help you plan your activities and offer knowledgeable advise regarding hiking and biking trails. You can also rent bicycles at the Nature Center.

Amenities

Canaan Valley Resort has amenities, including a fitness center, indoor heated pool, whirlpool spa and sauna. You can also choose from a variety of dining options while staying in the state park such as the Bear Paw Food Court, Cafe Siena and Clubhouse Grill.
