Mosquito Lake
Mosquito Lake spans 7,241 acres with a maximum depth of 24 feet. Anglers can drift, cast or troll fish on the lake. An idle speed, no-wake restriction extends 300 feet from the shoreline.
Mosquito Lake State Park
Anglers can access the lake from the 7, 241-acre Mosquito Lake State Park. Winter ice fishing is available in the park as well as snowmobiling, cross country skiing and ice skating. Other activities include hiking and swimming.
Fish Species
Fishing is open throughout the year. Fish species in Mosquito Lake consist of walleye, largemouth bass, northern pike, bluegill, white bass, yellow perch and crappie, catfish and brown bullhead.
Baits and Lures
According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, effective lures for walleye are nightcrawler harnesses, jigs, minnows and crankbaits. For northern pikes, use spoons, large shiners and crankbaits. Lures like spinner baits and plastic worms work well for tempting largemouth bass.
License
You must have a valid Ohio fishing license to fish in Mosquito Lake. Resident and nonresident fishing licenses are available from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources website and from participating vendors in all counties.
