The Bahamas comprise 700 islands and cays. Bimini is the closest island to the United States, although Grand Bahama and Nassau are where most tourists vacation.

The islands have mostly constant tropical temperatures year round, varying just 10 degrees between summer (averaging 85 degress) and winter (averaging 75 degrees).

Popular activities in the Bahamas are scuba diving, dolphin tours, Hobie Cat sailing, snorkeling and kayaking.
Attractions
One of the most popular attractions in the Bahamas is the Atlantis resort and theme park on Nassau. It has casinos, water slides and marine habitats all at one resort.
Currency
The Bahamian dollar is the currency of the islands, although the U.S. dollar is also accepted.
