Designated as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, Pueblo, also referred to as Taos Pueblo, offers a unique opportunity to view adobe buildings more than 1,000 years old. Native American inhabitants of the village still live in these buildings located one mile from the modern city of Taos.

Visiting the Village

The village is open daily for self-guided walking tours. Plan to pay a $10 admission fee and a $5 fee for each still or video camera you bring. Always ask permission of tribal members before you snap a photo.

Artist Shops

Buckskin moccasins, drums, sculptures, paintings, jewelry and clay pottery make up some of the offerings by Pueblo artists. Find the shops on the village walking tour or in nearby Taos.

Taos Mountain Casino

Located one mile from Pueblo, the casino offers full gaming including slots. Table games include blackjack and three-card poker. The casino is open every day of the week.

Accommodations

Book a room at the Hotel La Fonda in Taos located in the Taos Plaza built in 1820. Or head to the Taos Inn, listed on the National and New Mexico Registers of Historic Places.

Restaurants

Enjoy fresh local food at Doc Martin's Restaurant located in a historic landmark building in Taos. Or, try El Meze Restaurant for upscale dining featuring local trout and organic produce including regional chiles.
